Welcome

We are blind and low-vision Sacramentans, family members and friends who meet every month to support one another, share what works, and speak up for blind Californians in the state capital.

Whether you have been blind all your life, are losing vision now, or want to support someone who is, you are welcome at our next meeting. There is no cost to attend.

About the Federation

The National Federation of the Blind is the largest organization of blind people in the United States, led by blind people. Its members believe that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future, and that with the right training and opportunity, blind people can live the lives they want.

The River City Chapter is one of the local chapters of the National Federation of the Blind of California, the state affiliate. The affiliate runs the annual state convention, the BELL Academy braille program for children, state scholarships and NFB-NEWSLINE, a free service that reads newspapers and magazines aloud by phone and app.

Draft note. The meeting time, contact details and email list on this page come from the affiliate's Chapters and Divisions listing. The welcome text and membership details are placeholder copy for the chapter to confirm or replace.
